DARE
Since 1987 the DARE program has been taught in the Anderson County School system. The program is taught in the 5th grade at each elementary school by Chief Deputy Robbie Armstrong and Sgt Tony Likins and Deputy James Dunn. Since 1987 the program has graduated thousands of students ready to enter middle school. The new 10 week curriculum took effect in the fall of 2003 and consists of a 1 hour class each week. Students completing the program celebrate with a picnic at the park.
